I found no clear explanation of the green "checkmark" that appears on the left side of "prescribed" drugs and I notice that some appear immediately upon double-clicking a drug from the selector list, but others show as a blue "?" even after the information is put in, for example for the drug

which numbers each area of the interface #1 ... #6 however
- area #6 is blank
- the descriptions stops at #5 leaving the reader with no idea what will be in #6 or what name is being given to the parts that will eventually appear in #6

... I saw checkmarks, with no explanation for the checkmarks.

That's true. I Will work on a better doc.

Happy to.
I can easily start with what Google translate offers, however I would need somewhere to put the resulting translation file.
Possibly, having obtained a "starting" page in English, I would via browser view the source of the Google page, and would then edit the html inside a text editor, if that is the form in which such translation would work best.
Ideally, the pages would live inside some online repository that allowed project members shared online editing. The "Launchpad" tools provided by Canonical who as you no doubt no shepherds Ubuntu do this nicely with .po translation files. However if only one person would be working at a time, it could be by checkout/checkin.
Lastly, I have a competing time crunch over the next 4-6 weeks, so may more likely work on this for FD4

PS a newer version of Canadian db is available for 7 days from the following link. It still has that odd but convenient behaviour, wherein searching for either commercial or molecule name can be achieved inside "Search by commercial" but oddly neither inside "Search by molecule". I am wondering if it might be a consequence of my removing the non-null restriction on some FD fields and leaving these fields empty. It would be *really* useful to spare the doctor having to look up an unfamiliar drug to have to know what kind of name they are inputting. Such a "combo search" is arguably important as a headache-remover for a drug software to provide.

I've added your script to my non-public database creator.
So may be, instead of working with database file sharing, we can work
with a common script. I've just translated your script to C++/Qt,
nothing really hard to do.
Can we concentrate our efforts on the SQL commands from canadian db to
fdcanadian db.
Whatever is, I'll take a look to your DB tonight or tomorrow night.

Sure... you maybe already figured out I have very limited coding knowledge though did manage (20+ years ago) to learn and write a program that used FoxBASE database with procedural language, so a bit of learning is still possible...
What I am thinking for the SQL is:
1. the script can be added-to after we are happy with everything, to be able to drop the import (staging) databases and make the db smaller
2. before we do that (and before we can even resolve the other SQL questions) are a few depends questions, here are a few, there are maybe some more:
- is the bug fix +100000 on _CIS fields because of Canadian data or able to be managed some different way in FD4?
- do we need Canadian scripts for 0.3.x or do we focus on FD 0.4.0 future schema?
- may we like to have drug strength (100) stored separately from unit (mg) in different columns?
Canadian data offers separate fields:
"62475","2192","CLONAZEPAM","I","0.5","MG","","","N","TAB",""
- enables cleaner dosing calculation adjustment
- enables easier calculation of patient consumption in EMR
- without this separation:
France: 100 mg (space)
US: 100mg (no space)
I kind of think it's important, no?
- do we think upper/lower case makes any visual preference for user?
- maybe more things I do not yet know about how FD likes its data
- are we also still liking to think (no rush) about some more schema table structure choices before "finalizing" anything?
