Hey all, I released the latest version of Townsquare yesterday
(
https://github.com/freegeekchicago/townsquare). Improvements include:
* Default volunteer page is now search page and volunteer hour
reporting simplified and improved.
* Much faster performance on events page.
* Theme upgrades: Simplify theme, improve mobile user interface.
* Bug fixes for volunteer manager: No more extra blank rows, autoscroll page.
* Townsquare editor: Possibly the smoothest Drupal rich text editor.
Looking forward:
* Volunteer manager: Better time selection, better note-taking, calendar.
* Signup: Create system that integrates with orientation, improve ease
of creating new volunteers for managers and administrators.
* Perks system: Add credit and achievements to volunteers as they
reach participation milestones.
* Wiki: We have the editor, now we need navigation and structure.
* Better mobile support: It should be dead simple to log in to
Townsquare and search for a volunteer's hours from your Android,
iPhone, or tablet.
Long term:
* Inter-operability: Townsquare should be able to add volunteer
management and wiki components to other organizational/non-profit
Drupal distributions like Nedjo Rogers' OpenOutreach and Chach Sikes'
Friendly Open Source Project.
* Social media integration as content management: Who cares about
posting to your blog unless you're also posting to Twitter and
Facebook?
* Volunteer notifications: Use hour tracking to progressively educate
volunteers about the FreeGeek process... automagically!
* Conversation/group management: What's better than our Google group?
I wish I knew...
The current demo site is out of sync with the latest stable version --
either build it yourself or wait til next week, when we will have an
improved demo site.
