Hello everybody,
I have a question to FLOSSK Board about making a general meeting of
FLOSS Kosova where we will start organizing the Software Freedom
Kosova conference 2010 because I am getting questions from last
speakers, friends and people that; Are we going to make the SFK10.

So I propose soon to make a general meeting and we shouldn't wait for
local elections to finish.

Best regards,
Gent Thaqi (FLOSS Kosova member)

Hi there,

Let me express my personal ideas on this topic.

We should announce that we are going to do SFK10, and ideally it
should be at the university again, according to our MOU.
It would be better to hold it during the time that the students are in
the town, and not in ULCIN.

We announced the SFK09 conference one year in advance. On August 25, I
made this video
I have created a video on youtube to explain my position on this :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tQ7A-qNOWk
And here I detail my plans for the conference :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBCfqDC_2Sc

But still, I think that we should do our survey first before we plan
for next year in detail.

We still do not have the videos posted from the conference,
we still do not have any press coverage about the event,
nothing that would satisfy the notability criteria for Wikipedia.

we still don't have membership or partnerships with any major open
source Organization.

These are my goals for flossk, finishing up on SFK09 and planning SFK10.

Promoting FLOSS is the goal of flossk. The conference is the major
activity to do so.

I would like to see our regional outreach campaign continued because
that is one of the best ways to reach people.

We should be holding monthly meetings around the region to recruit new
members for Flossk.

You all know how much work we need to put into the conference.
Who here wants to be on the SFK10 team ?
Who wants to work on the outreach campaign?
And dont forget, it is the flosskes that make the conference special,
so we are the most important.
The bureaucrats are a dime a dozen, and there are tons of them.

Well then, I would suggest that we have a weekly planning meeting
until the plan is done.
We don't need to meet for a whole year, but just long enough until we
have the following :

1. a call for papers
2. a location reserved
3. sponsors
4. a date

someplace with internet where we can plan this.
Ideally the UNI would sponsor us a place to meet, the video conference
room for example.

Ready when needed for anything .

P.S. I have a proposal :why don't we do that in Electrotech liceum Don Bosco , our first conference  there went great , people(students , profesors , Directing Board) liked it and  almost all were interested , and they can't wait for another one to come . The Don Bosco conference room offers enough place for three hundred people . I'm Sure they will welcome us , this time we will be bigger and greater.

We succesfully started our OSM Project  , we will have GNU /FreeOpenSource linux trainings and center in Don Bosco , they have proved care to us. We must show our gratitude working and repay the honour they did to us .

I am open to all schools. If the UP wants to continue with next year
it would be great.
I think it was great to have it at the UP.

There were many other schools who expressed interest in the
conference, we could organize different events around the region, and
in different schools, the year is long. Ideally , I would like to see
monthly events organised, and we could have one international speaker
per month come, making a different topic, like focused on one issue.

But, we should at least approach the UP/FEIK and ask if they are
interested in continuing next year as the first step, because it was
also the plan to have a yearly conference. We had a press conference
that stated that, and we should keep our word.

Big conferences have a call for hosting, and the hosts make offers for
who will be the best. Like the Olympics.

It might be better in other places, that is not the issue.
I see that the UP was a great choice, because we all benefited alot
from working together.
Also the UP is a public school.

I am open to doing another event in kosovo, or moving the conf if the
UP does not want to do it.
But we should give them the first choice.
