I received a really offensive anti-Obama e-mail this morning.
I was about to email the sender and request that my name be removed from his/her mailing list, and I accidentally hit the "Send" key on my computer. As a result of my error, I may have accidentally recirculated the email I found offensive.
In any event, I would like to have my name removed from the free-penguin_org mailing list.

The offensive thing is the fact that it was sent out as spam email. It would be appropriate freedom of speech / First Amendment stuff if this were a political forum about the election, which it is not.

I agree that this political spam is inappropriate and irrelevant...really, this is not the place for inane, uneducated, political chain mail. From either end of the political spectrum.
Can anyone explain what's going on here? I don't even know how I ended up being a member of this group in the first place and now, I'm receiving these kinds of emails. I'm confused.
And, if I can just say one thing, while I always stand when our National Anthem is played -- even when hearing it on TV -- and I always put my hand over my heart; it seems ridiculous to not vote for someone because he or she doesn't. The next time the anthem is played, take a good hard look around you -- many Americans do NOT put their hands over their hearts.
