While ARIA seems to be straight-forward. It's not easy to get your head wrapped around the difference between states, roles, and their intermingling with the native HTML semantics. Todd Kloots spent a lot of time patiently explaining this to me at Yahoo. Also, for every ARIA tutorial, there are 2 that show different solutions to the same problem. Education is something we all need to practice.

What drives me batty is cross-platform implementation which forces me to rethink a lot of things or shoot for the lowest common denominator so I don't have to fork my code to work on different systems. Hence I sometimes lose the semantics of the differences such as between labeledby and describeby... One works on iOS the other doesn't, at least not on older versions.
