Mailing list change
At todays meeting we discussed going forward. As some of you may have noticed the google groups web site is crashing and failing, being slow and much more. On top of the changes introduced by google we will be switching to tux.org's mailman mailinglist. We have already migrated our archives there. I will take our member list on... more »

England run library
After todays meeting I stopped by the england run library. That's a very nice location - it even has its own cafe! I asked about getting meeting room reservations and got an application to be filled out. The conditions of the rooms are great and the con ditions for getting access is just as any other library - none profit, non commercial,... more »

Digest for fredlug@googlegroups.com - 7 Messages in 1 Topic
To all, they appear to be moving away from the groups as we know it, to an online cms/website thingi. I realize I am not the most active non meeting attender. I do think alfresco does warrant some looking at. Wordpress may not offer all of the functionality that we may be seeking and plone appears to be very cumbersome. Drupal and Joomla/Mambo are kind of Ok. Not really... more »

Mailing list future

It pains me that the owner of all the data we type here, is google's - and not "ours". Also, I wonder if it's a matter of time before Google... more »

ma-jobs
I'm not sure how many here in Fredlug is aware of the ma-jobs mailing list, for Linux job postings for the mid-atlantic? There's not a lot of activity on the list, but if you're looking for Linux related employment, it's a very good list to subscribe to. My company is currently looking for a Linux System Admin with experience... more »

Hi All, I know it has been about of year since I have participated in the group, but I have been reading all of your emails. Help with Linux
I'm new to Linux and the group. I got a copy of Ubuntu from the library (8.04) and installed it on my older laptop. I did not partition but wiped Windows out. That felt great. However, my wireless network is not working at all. I've read the using NdisWrapper might fix it but I am in a little over my head now. Is there anyone in the... more »
