Thank you Ouroboros and all my esteemed colleagues for an exciting round.

I accept the judgeship and humbly cede sole Wizardlyness to Dylan
Lacey. I invite the Wizard to choose a theme for the next round. After
Wz. Lacey announces the theme, the round will begin as soon as any
member of the committee posts the first rule.

Regards,

Joshua F.R.C.J.

I become a member of the FRC, then note, in a pedantic manner, that
this means that the judge's choice of round start time means the first
such rule posted is not a rule in the new round.

Without pedantic manners this committee would hardly have manners at
all. So your contribution is naturally appreciated. In the same spirit
however, I must respectfully disagree with your conclusion. My timing
direction merely requires that the next round and the first rule in
that round will come into existence simultaneously. I fail to see how
your recent induction into the committee will have any effect.
However, I am not adverse to being further enlightened.

I personally interpret "as soon as any member..." to mean "immediately
after any member..." - "as any member... " would work, as might
something more convoluted ("immediately prior to the first time any
member...").

But, as the esteemed Judge, I defer to your ruling.

Incidentally, is such a waiting period common? I joined expecting to
craft great and controversial rules, and I am eager for it!

As the Wizard, I thus announce the theme for this round to be:

Pride and Pedantry.

The round begins immediately the first rule is posted, or when-ever Mr Darcy makes a visit to our estate *Fans himself*

In interest of starting the round one way or another, I shall submit my
first fantasy rule:

{{It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in
possession of a good fortune and a book of law, must be in want of a zombie.

However little known the feelings or views of such a man may be upon his
first entering a neighbourhood, this truth is so well fixed in the minds
of the surrounding families, that all rules created by him, or anyone
else for that matter, are considered the rightful property of some one
or other of their cadavers, and must themselves declare such.

"My dear Mr. Bennet," said his lady to him on day, "have you heard that
Netherfield Park is let at last?"

Mr. Bennet made no answer.

"Do you not want to know who has taken it?" cried his wife impatiently.

"You want to tell me, and I have strong objection to hearing it, for I
am currently investigating the fact that the surrounding families are in
fact those referred to in any rule. Furthermore, it is my convinction
that this rule be in the possession of the defiled corpse of Mrs. Long's
grandmother."}}
