Up Coming Events:

? 3/10 Curriculum Day- School dismisses at 11:40. There will be no
lunch served.

Please Note PM ½ day Kindergarten students and PM preschool students
will attend the AM session on March 10th. AM ½ day Kindergarten and
AM preschool will not attend school on March 10th.

? 3/11 PTO Meeting 7-9 PM
? 3/12 Class picture day- Order forms were sent home last week.

Dear Franklin Families,
Wow, what a beautiful weekend maybe spring is right around the corner!

Thank you to Mrs. Tenenbaum who coordinated our Read Across America
activities last week. We culminated the week with a school assembly
where each class shared a poem or song about reading and several staff
members performed a Reader?s Theatre for the school.

This year we decided to pay special attention to the book ?The Lorax?
and we are encouraging our students to make every effort to ?go
green.? One way everyone can help is to make the effort to switch to
reusable water bottles!
We will continue the 5210 program this month with an emphasis on
limiting screen time to two hours or less per day. Please continue to
help your child find new ways to spend the time they would normally be
watching television, using the computer or playing video games, and
document their successes on the March goal trackers that were sent
home at the end of last week. Remind them also to continue to work on
increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables they eat and to
substitute sweet drinks with water, 100% fruit juice or low fat milk.
The Franklin School, in conjunction with the North Andover Youth
Center, will be sponsoring a personal care drive for residents in our
community. Each grade level is asked to bring in specific personal
care items. These donations will be packaged into family units, and
will be distributed by the Youth Center to families in our town.
Donations will be accepted Monday March 9 ?Wednesday, March 18, and
can be placed in the marked containers located at the school's entrance.
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the yearbook cover
contest. We were impressed by all the entries.
