.. anyone interested in beta testing frameserver for Premiere Pro CS4?
As a beta tester you will be using frameserver on a daily basis and
provide quick feedback on what works and what doesn't. If interested,
reply here and I'll sign you up to the beta programme.

Hi Satish,

Yes, I am interested in Beta testing frameserver for Premiere Pro CS4. I'd
be willing to test a fix for Sony Vegas 9 when and if you release it.

Thank you!

Hi Satish, I apologise that I write here in a theme, whether it is
planned beta testing for Sony Vegas 9 x64? It is ready to
participate ))

Hi Satish
Just gave the frameserver a spin and it worked like a charm in CS4.
Encoded HDV footage to SD with avisynth and HC encoder.

Thanks!

Everyone, you can get the latest beta version with Premiere Pro CS4
support from http://code.google.com/p/frame-server/downloads/list .
Please keep in mind that this is a beta, there could be issues
including loss of data so try at your own risk. Of course please
report here whether it worked for you or not. Once tested well enough,
I'll make it an official release.

Hi YNUS, 64 bit support is not ready yet.

Just downloaded it. Right off the bat, it seems that it does not support interlacing. Is this the case, or am I doing something wrong? I know my sequence is BFF NTSC, but when I view the frameserver output, it is apparently deinterlaced by Adobe Media Encoder. There is no option in AME to set the interlace properties.

I tried, I was able to get the result (hdv->sd) the pre-cs4 days using
your frameserver.

One issue though is the performance seems way down. a 3 minutes hdv
clip (same hdv, same encoder, same machine, same os) took about 8
hours versus 20 minutes (when I use cs3->framserving->encoder)

I had success using the frameserver to feed MT AviSynth the video from
a CS4 sequence. However, the performance was bad. I used Dan Isaacs'
hd2sd filter to scale HD footage down to SD resolution. I have an 8
core machine with 16 GB of RAM and I was getting about 1.5 fps during
the conversion. With MT and a Lagarith AVI file as the source, I get
between 25 and 30 fps.

The bottleneck seemed to be the AME: it only used 10% of the CPU. So
I don't know if it's a problem with the frameserver getting the frames
to the AME, or if the AME is dropping the ball when it processes the
frames.

I've tried using it with 32bit floating point pixel format in Vegas 8
project settings, but the file is only garbage in CS4. It works fine
with 8bit but that's really not usefull for color correcting in CS4.
Any chance of fixing this anytime soon? It's a kick ass piece of
software by the way!

Great, great, great Satish

I've tried using FS with PPro v4.1.0 and ProCoder v3.05.91.
I've used a 12 seconds video DV-PAL.
All the process PPro ->Media Encoder->FS->ProCoder has gone very very good.
This is beautiful!!!

I tried the 2.7 beta, in Premiere CS4 I select Export->Media, then in
the Format I select "Debugmode Frameserver", all options are gone (I
assume that's normal), then I click OK, the MediaEncoder opens, I
click "Start Queue", it says loading for about 20 seconds, no file is
created, and then the Adobe encoder crashes.

I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, Core2 Duo CPU, 2GB RAM, Adobe Premiere
CS4.

What else can I provide or do ? I can try to make a screencast of it.

by the way, the source video is some MTS files from an AVCHD camcorder
(Canon Vixia HG21).

I have had pretty much the same experience with the beta as N.R.

Trying to frameserve out of premiere to external encoder.

computer is Pentium D dual core
Win 7 64bit, 4gb ram
Premiere CS4

Installed f.s. and made sure the files made it where they were
supposed to go (they did).
ran premiere with project,
file>export>media
in Format pulldown, selected Debugmode Frameserver
no options in preset pulldown
export file name is {project name}.avi
export video is selected/selectable
export audio is greyed out/unselectable
No information in summary section (all three lines read 'no
information available')
Tabs at bottom are filters, video, other

I clicked okay to go to A.M.E.
A.M.E. loaded, queues up the render
Clicked 'Start Queue'
A.M.E. did some thinking (about 5-10 seconds on my machine, about the
time it takes to load the project), and then crashes the A.M.E. Window
(premiere itself stays up).
Right as it's crashing, it switches the status of the f.s. avi to
'encoding'

Tried this either 4 or 5 times with 2 reboots mixed in for funsies.
Same result each time.

Thanks for all your work on this project, Satish.

How I missed that you mentioned it's not 64 bit ready yet, I don't
know. Well, if/when you get to a 64 bit version, I can test it on xp
x64 and win7 x64.

I have exactly the same problem in Win7 32bit, so...
Is there a solution yet?
