Hi all,

I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements 9.0.1 on a Sony Vaio laptop with an
i5 processor, running Windows 7 Home Premium, both Windows and PRE in
the dutch language.

My main application is to record football (soccer) matches of my kid.
My camera records AVCHD 1920x1080i format. I want to store the end
result in XViD format, full HD, progressive. As I could not get
deinterlacing working properly with PRE9, I switched to creating an
intermediate Lagarith AVI file, then process further with VirtualDub.
It works, but the intermediate file is huge (180-200GB) and the
process takes about 15 hours for one hour movies.

To save time and disc space, I want to try DMFS to get the data from
PRE9 to Virtualdub without intermediate file storage. Unfortunately I
cannot get it to work.

I found a clear instruction video on Youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYOqJIer1gE&noredirect=1
I did exectly what was shown on the video, and my PC responded exactly
in the same way. I opened a project in PRE9, opened the Share tab and
selected Others. From there, my PC no longer responds like the one in
the You-tube video (1:17 minutes).

In stead of a window where I can enter a file name, I get an error
message. I put a screen dump of the PRE9 window on Skydrive:
https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?cid=d14def4aa74cc647&resid=D14DEF4AA74CC647!8266&parid=root
The error message translates into "Export settings are invalid".

I tried to find the problem by:
* Installing DMFS 2.14
* Installing DMFS 2.10
* Restarting the PC many times
* Opening various HD1080i projects
* Opening various DV PAL-wide projects

On the hard disk I can find:

C:\Program Files (x86)\DebugMode\FrameServer

\dfscPremiereOut.prm

(All other plugins are found in a folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe
\Adobe Premiere Elements 9\Plug-ins\nl_NL)

Lots of info... I hope one of you can help me with this.

Thanks in advance,
Franc

It's me again. I found some additional information.

When uninstalling DMFS 2.10, I get these details:

Could not load:
Delete file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements
9\sharingcenter\Presets\pc\OTHERS\DMFS\dmfs.epr
Delete file: C:\Program Files (x86)\DebugMode\FrameServer
\dfscVegasV2Out.dll
Delete file: C:\Program Files (x86)\DebugMode\FrameServer
\DFsNetClient.exe
Delete file: C:\Program Files (x86)\DebugMode\FrameServer\fsuninst.exe
Delete file: C:\Windows\system32\dfsc.dll
Delete file: C:\Windows\system32\dfscacm.dll
Remove folder: C:\Users\Franc\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start
Menu\Programs\Debugmode\FrameServer\
Delete file: C:\Program Files (x86)\DebugMode\FrameServer\readme.txt
Delete file: C:\Program Files (x86)\DebugMode\FrameServer
\changelog.txt
Delete file: C:\Program Files (x86)\DebugMode\FrameServer\fscommon.dll
Delete file: C:\Program Files (x86)\DebugMode\FrameServer
\ImageSequence.dll
Delete file: C:\Program Files (x86)\DebugMode\FrameServer
\DFsNetServer.exe
Completed

In the first line, it appears that a file is missing. Unfortunately,
the details do not mention which file could not load. I reinstalled,
reset the PC, still no change,

Hoping that someone out there can solve this problem...

This time I found a solution to get DMFS 2.13 to work. The problem
seems to be language related. I have dutch versions of both Windows 7
Home Premium and Adobe Premiere Elements 9.01. It appears that the
installer does not handle that correctly.

The file "dfscPremiereOut.prm" is installed into a folder "c:\Program
Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 9\Plug-ins\en_US". I scanned
the Windows Registry and could not find any reference to this folder.
However, I found references to a folder "c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe
\Adobe Premiere Elements 9\Plug-ins\nl_NL" possibly implying the plug-
ins for Premiere Elements should be stored there.

So I moved the file dfscPremiereOut.prm from the en_US folder to the
nl_NL folder. As the en_US folder did not contain any other files, I
removed the entire folder.

After starting Premiere Elements I found that now I can use the
Frameserver.

Now I wonder... this could be a frameserver-installer problem or
something curious in my Windows setup that causes the installer not to
detect the Dutch language settings. If it is an installer problem,
does that only apply to Dutch, or are there other languages that cause
the same problem.
Should report this as a bug or what?

Good Catch!!!

I will definitely look into it next time I am around installer
logic...

Thanks for digging this up!
