Dear Artists,

I often remark to my artists about how our work brings us into such
interesting places. And, just looking at it as a painter, we get the
joyful opportunity to paint so many canvases ("faces") on every job,
with so many different ways and things to paint from canvas to canvas
and job to job.
So there I was painting that cute Rudolph on a kid's nose (which I
recently posted) in the inner recesses of the New York Stock Exchange
on Saturday, and then on Sunday I'm at the opening reception at a
local museum for "Picasso and the School of Paris" turning people
into living Picasso paintings.

It's a juxtaposition that reminds me that one of the reasons why I
have stayed in this wonderful business so long is the wacky
eccentricity that working like artists who entertain allows us.

Christopher...I LOVE those Picasso paintings! What a wonderful idea! There
is a Picasso museum in St Pete, Fl.The local painters there should approach
them with this idea.
Thanks!

Hi Christopher!

Love the Picasso faces. Have always thought referring to some of our
master painters a way to be inspired. Found Picasso so interesting to
take the three dimensional face and apply his unique cubist style.

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Cynthia,
I loved the Picasso faces too.
Where is the Museum in St. Pete? or did you confuse it with the Dali?
I used to paint at the Dali often for their festivals, unfortunately, they won't pay. It is per face or tips only.
Worked out well before I got so busy, so I passed it on to some newcomers.

Thanks for the correction, Elaine.;o) I am in Orlando and thought it was Picasso not Dali Museum.Haven't been there yet, myself. I wouldn't think a museum would pay on a regular basis, but when they had special events they might come up with a decent wage ;o) In the beginning of a FP career, even those "pay-as-you-go" opportunities add up and hopefully gets you future hourly clients. For you "newbies" always have your cards or promotional materials with you when you do the per face events especially.
Sincerely,
Cynthia
