Please find below the private URL for testing version 3.0.1b1 of Fo for only three of you to try out FoxTrot Pro 3 - this build has been tested extensively for a week and nothing bad should happen if you try it:
- The indexer could crash in very specific circumstances (Personal, Pro, Server)
- When quitting FoxTrot Server from the Adminin application, the Admin application had to be relaunched in order to reconnect to the server (once it has been restarted). (Admin)
- Printing a text or word processor document from the main window's preview did not work (Personal, Pro)
- smaller margins when printing HTML (Personal, Pro)
- removed SSL settings from the user interface, as it is now configured automatically in FoxTrot Server (Admin)
- when rebuilding an index, reselect it in the sources (Pro)
- expiration date removed (Personal, Pro, Admin, Server)
- fixed the french localization (Personal, Pro, Admin)
Sorry - I can’t install new software to do beta testing on a business day. I’ll be happy to do so this weekend.

Thanks. Maybe this version will actually index something (current version crashes right out the gate the moment I tell it to index). I will try this when the weekend comes. - Dat

Can you send us a detailed report, including crash logs?
Thanks

So far so good. Searching seems fine, and I updated my index without incident, except that updating seemed to hang for more than a minute. I suspect Foxtrot was trying to index the newly-downloaded Foxtrot versions, since I had just updated my index an hour before. Perhaps you want to exclude the Foxtrot program from being indexed (by default)?

I just downloaded the new FoxTrot Personal Search v.3.01 from the link on the CTM server, and found the downloaded file was version 3.0, build 713. I don’t think that’s what you intended.

Even though I have already purchased the upgrade to Foxtrot Personal search, I'm now unable to get the newest version to launch. The application will only launch the old version.
Please advise. Jeff

Can you describe precisely what happens when you try to launch FoxTrot 3? Is there an error message? A Crash? A message logged in Console.app?
Note that FoxTrot 3 requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later.

When I click on the Foxtrot icon in the dock, this message appears:
"Running FoxTrot from a disk image: This copy of FoxTrot appears to be running from its installation disk image, and could work incorrectly. Please copy it to the Applications folder.
I then copied it to the applications folder and the problem is persisting. I had been using the upgraded version successfully for about a week until yesterday.
I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.4 on a Macbook Pro.
Please advise.

Yes, and remove from the Dock the application that you dragged from the disk image, then you can drag the application from the Application folder back to the Dock.
