downloads no longer working

previously I had no problems with FoxTorrent other than it took a
little while to start up when I went to view my downloads.
however, now I cannot add any new downloads or delete any existing
ones from the list. I've tried a few things (terminating the RedSwoosh
process, restarting, etc. etc.) but nothing seems to work.
when I go to download a new torrent, it either tells me to open a new
Firefox window or it goes to the downloads page, but when it finally
loads (after quite a long time) it says that I am offline and my
download never appears
when I attempt to remove a download from the list, it will disappear
for a little while and then reappear at the top of the list.
collapsing/expanding downloads also doesn't work as they just revert
to their original state.
as far as I can tell, it no longer downloads even the files I already
have on the list.
please help?
