If it says initiazation failed, then it means something is blocking
redswoosh-linux from listening on a local port.. a firewall or
security program of some sort?
Tom.
It keeps saying that. It doesn't do it all the time, except on my
wife's computer. On mine it sometimes takes a few tries.
The scanner link and control panel actually kick it offline, and I get
that "Lost Connection" message. If I visit the control panel,
FoxTorrent even sometimes thinks I don't have an internet
connection.
I wish there was some reliable way to manage RedSwoosh. It doesn't
seem as stable as clients like KazaaLite or KCEasy.
This is the only Torrent client I can get to work, because even when
my router says have ports forwarded, the clients think that I don't.

If it actually shows my downloads, then eventually it can update
itself to the point where the message goes away. The message by
itself? No.
The second is where it shows the things that I'm downloading, but
still loses connection. It was going, then it stopped: (http://
i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb34/steelcaress/foxtorrentscreen.jpg)
The third is where it shows my downloads, won't expand or collapse
them, and has that annoying message. Sometimes even tells me I don't
have an internet connection. The message can sometimes go away if
it's showing my downloads, in which case things will start coming
in.
Don't get me wrong. I like FoxTorrent. I like it a lot. It's just a
headache to get things started. My wife has gone to a different
client, because of the error message scenario in the first paragraph
of this post.
But I think you guys have done a great job. Just more stability would
be nice. In the time it's taken me to post this, Red Swoosh has
started up again.
?????
can anyone help??
Tom.

as root do:
cd /lib
ln -s libssl.so.0.9.8b libssl.so.0.9.8
ln -s libcrypto.so.0.9.8b libcrypto.so.0.9.8
next time FoxTorrent asks for reinstall it works as designed, ie. with
bugs and all :-)
propellerhead info:
the installer is $HOME/.mozilla/firefox/*.default/extensions/*/

to check that all libs are found do a:
