Windows Vista Business running Firefox 2.0.0.3

Can you just tell me what redswoosh.exe actually does. I'm
uncomfortable
having a service permanently running without any idea what it does.
Can
FoxTorrent start it only when a download is about to happen?

Are torrents seeded automatically after download? How is this done?

RedSwoosh.exe does the actual downloading of torrents. The extension
is the front end UI to that. At the moment RedSwoosh.exe runs while
FoxTorrent is installed so it can download torrents in the background
after you close your browser.

Torrents are seeded automatically after they complete. This is done in
a way that is fair and light on your internet connection, backing off
when it is in use otherwise.

Hope this addresses your concerns,
Tom.

Thanks for that. However, I found that in Vista with UAC turned on,
every time I clicked any link (not just torrents) in Firefox,
RedSwoosh intervened. Can you explain?

Also, is there anyway to suspend seeding or is it such that once a
file has been downloaded it will be seeded for ever and a day? Or
even see which files are being seeded. If a number of files have been
downloaded using foxtorrent then together they may clog up bandwidth.

It just seems that although the simplicity of the extension is
beautoiful, there is a lot going on in the backlground over which I
have no control.

I can't!, as I don't know what is going on there.
We haven't tested FoxTorrent on Vista. Does it work successfully with
UAC turned off? Does it work with it turned on?
What happens when you click on links with it turned on.. the redswoosh
installer pops up, or a redswoosh webpage pops up?
Curiouser and curiouser.

Tom.

We plan on adding the individual file download and upload speeds in
the next rev of the foxtorrent UI.

FoxTorrent only uploads when your connection is not in use, so it
won't clog up your connection, no matter how many files it has listed.

There is a lot going on in the background, and FoxTorrent makes it so
you don't have to need to manage it.
