All Venues for a City

Is there a way to obtain all of the venues for a specific area (eg
City)? It seems that there is support for paging the results for a
nearby search and it's limited to 50. Do I have to make multiple calls
using a slightly offset lat/lng each time?

yes

there's no way to pull a subset of the database. the /venues method is
meant for browsing
