Subject: #allnew4sq API changes coming to version 20120609 and higher

Hey everyone,

Hope you're all enjoying the All New Foursquare
(http://blog.foursquare.com/2012/06/07/the-allnew4sq-is-here-download-...
As you might guess, there are a lot of changes to the API that make this
possible. These changes are tied to client versions 20120609 and higher
(see: https://developer.foursquare.com/overview/versioning for an overview
of how we do versioning). If you update your version ID on a regular basis
(as you should!) be especially mindful of crossing this boundary as it's
very likely that things will break.

We're still in the process of documenting all the new API behavior, but
these will be rolling out to http://developer.foursquare.com over the next
few weeks. The API will likely evolve a bit during that time, so be
forewarned that API version 20120609 and onwards will be especially prone
to breaking changes until we say otherwise. We thought about waiting until
things are stable, but we know a lot of you are eager to start building
against the new features, so we figured sooner was better.

One note: the Friend Tab is almost certainly going to undergo a major API
refactoring over the next month or so, so it likely won't be documented
anytime before then and we recommend extreme caution before you start
coding against the corresponding endpoint.

All the best!

~ak
