I'm the developer of GoodNews -- a Google reader client for Android. I use the edit-tag request to allow the user to add and remove tags from articles. This is working fine since more than a year now. But since around March I am getting more and more error reports from users who are no longer able to remove tags from certain articles and I am on my own are in the same situation as I've described in the Google reader product forum here. In these rare cases it is even not possible to remove the tag from the article using the Google reader web interface: You can click the "edit tags" link of the article, remove the tag and it looks like if it has been removed. But as soon as you click the tag in the navigation tree on the left, the article is still there.

The only workaround seems to be to rename the tag and reassign all articles. Does anyone encounter the same problem? Does anyone have a solution?

I got about 50 % of my tagged articles stuck to their label even if i removed it with google reader UI. My workaround is to rename the label, then remove it from every effected article and rename the label back. Not nice anyway! :-(
