I am trying to find a good way to improve the feed discovery
capabilities of BeyondPod. It currently uses Google AJAX Feed API, but
the problem with it is that it seems to search for matches in the post
body in addition of the feed name/description. (For example if you are
trying to find the "CNN World" feed, it will find it but also find
other unrelated feeds that have posts mentioning CNN and Sports. Often
the real feed is somewhere in the middle of the results which makes it
for a very frustrating experience).

Is there a search API in Reader that can be used without requiring a
login and can locate feeds based on matches in the feed metadata (name/
description/keywords etc.)?

If such API exists, as most of my users are looking for podcast feeds,
is there a way to limit the search to feeds that have enclosures or
alternatively search only among enclosures (similar to what Google
Listen does on the Android device).
