Yes, like we do on the slug (NSLU2) and the USB routers. This Pogoplug model has 4 USB ports and GLAN but no other external ports. It is said to have SATA onboard, but it is not exposed. On Dec 20, 2011 7:01 AM, "Joe Kaylor" <joekay...@gmail.com> wrote:

Things look very promising. My hope is for this fanless device to become the only server at my place that runs continuously. I am optimistic it can perform these functions:
- storage and media server (NFS, Samba, forked-daapd, mediatomb, etc.) - print and scan server (p910n) - telephony server (Asterisk) - monitoring (icinga)
The question is whether it can handle MythTV backend functionality, including recording off a digital USB tuner. It will be interesting.
These devices are available at J&R for $25 shipped. :)

One click? Looks from the link that it requires a few steps, including registering the unit with the Pogo service. Can you install your own distro without registering?

I am planning to switch to Debian later today. Arch Linux is a bit too risky with the way it handles kernel updates, and it doesn't seem to have recent ARM versions of key packages such as Asterisk.

But there were some errors in the filesystem, so I reformatted the flash drive, then untarred the rootfs. It wouldn't boot. Because the boot loader was looking for a partition with a particular UUID, which was no longer there because I had reformatted the drive.
Ouch, I thought, I'll have to unbrick it using a serial cable etc. But then I remembered that the bash history on my laptop still had the UUID from unmounting. So I manually assigned that UUID to the root partition again, and it booted right back up! What a relief.
And I have Debian. Ready for some serious work now. :)
