The Cuban government this week launched its own Linux distribution,
called Nova.

"The Cuban government, under the auspices of the Universidad de las
Ciencias Informáticas (UCI), created Nova by spinning its own rev on
the Gentoo variant of Linux," writes The Register's Timothy Prickett
Morgan.

"Linux has become increasingly popular in South America, Africa and
Eastern Europe, where companies and citizens aren't able to afford all
of the latest Microsoft software," writes DailyTech's Michael
Barkoviak. "Furthermore, the open source software can be freely
distributed among friends and colleagues in these nations, which helps
it spread faster than Microsoft can."

How could Nepalese government take these steps? It is really
disgusting that people holding critical portfolio are advocating
microsoft. Yeah! that is what i have seen. Without thinking of its
future prospect, they are opting microsoft over linux just because
microsoft is providing its softwares (including OS) free for
educational purpose. I doubt this free term lasts long. Is it the huge
money they get directly from the microsoft for this or are they the
die hard fan of microsoft?
Sorry to explicitly mention the name of microsoft but why our
government is turning a blind eye upon the vast utilization of linux?

Lets hope ...
cheers
