[Important] CAN Infotech Details

FOSS Nepal CAN Infotech Participation

This year we have been provided with a stall at the CAN Infotech 2008. We have been allocated the stall P-8 in the education pavilion at the Infotech.

To put up a good display and present a solid message in front of the mass that visits the infotech, the committee has decided on the following activities. These are just rough plans that has been decided for the event, if you have any suggestions and ideas, please write to us. We would be glad to incorporate those ideas if possible.

1. Flyers distribution (5000 Prints intially)
2. Demo distribution - Ubuntu/Nepalinux
3. CDs sale @ Rs. 20/pcs

• WINOSS (200 pcs intial print)
• Ubuntu (200 pcs intial print)
• Nepalinux (100 pcs intial print)

4. Flex  

• FOSS Banner
• Cartoonist FOSS Message (Please suggest if you have any idea, we are short of ideas)

5. Linux Terminal Server Project (LTSP) Demo, in Ubuntu. (If anyone can, please lend us a server for the infotech)
6. FOSS & FOSS Nepal news
7. Registration for interested visitors as members

Apart from this, through this mail we also want to

1. CALL FOR Volunteers.

•  Interested members can contact Mr. Subir Pradhanang be replying this email or calling him, he will be co-ordinating the volunteers for the entire event.
  

2. Calling for a meeting at BICC, Baneshwor, in our stall i.e., P-8 at 5:15 PM on 28th Jan, 08.
3. Call for contribution for 3-4 computers for the event for demonstration purpose
4. Invitation for anyone who wants to be the TUX

One member for each day has been allocated with the responsibility to overview all the stall activities. The name of the members for are as follows

29th, 30th, 31st January ->  Jwalanta Shrestha and Shishir Jha
1st Feb ->    Dadhi Ram ji
2nd Feb ->   Dadhi Ram ji and Prabin Gautam
3rd Feb ->    Hempal Shrestha

For the entire event the volunteers will be co-ordinated by Subir dai.

Hey Prasanna thanks for finding out the cartoons for display.
Hopefully it will look good. I will post a photograph of the final
product from the CAN.
