I think u have the cd of Nirvikalpa... U were there in FOSS Essentials Training hoina?

There is Unicodify in Nirvikalpa CD. Fetch it and use it. Its java application so u must have JRE to run.

And also, if you are in urgency you can also install Preeti and Kantipur fonts in Ubuntu.

If you don't know how to do that, see this thread: http://tinyurl.com/ttflnx

you may also try ConversionTools 3.0, which is freely available for download from the MPP site. Follow this link (http://tinyurl.com/cxv7xq)

So far I know, ConversionTools 3.0 works two-way i.e. normal fonts to
unicode and vice-versa.

Yes, MPPs tool converts in both directions, but only for plain text
files,
that is text must be in one font and you loose all formatting.

My program, at http://code.google.com/p/nepaliconverter/
* converts text with mixed fonts (mixing Preeti, Kantipur, Arial,
Times new roman etc freely)
* and retains all formatting (headers, italics etc etc),

but
* you must first convert the document to OpenOffice .ODT format and
* it currently only converts TO unicode.

A big pity that no Nepali programmers have volunteered to finish the
program before I leave.
