Next week, there are two public meeting related to the cleanup of the former Fort Ord.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded a Technical Assistance Grant (TAG) to Marina in Motion, a community group. The purpose of the TAG is to provide an additional mechanism for public outreach and information regarding the ongoing remediation efforts at Fort Ord. Marina in Motion has scheduled a community meeting for Monday, March 26, 2012 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Marina Library. The meeting topics are prescribed burns and the prescribed burn air monitoring plan. There is also an informal community workshop specifically focused on the Fort Ord Reuse Authority's Environmental Services Cooperative Agreement remediation program at the former Fort Ord. This informal community workshop has been scheduled for the evening of March 29, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:15 p.m. at the FORA conference facility, 201 13th Street, Building 2925, Marina, California. The meeting topics are a project overview from 2007 to 2011 and what is planned for 2012. Details are also available at (831) 883-3506 or www.fora-esca-rp.com.
