I am totally disgusted just 20 minutes ago, I was video-ing a beautiful bob cat when a white Cadillac Escalade ran it over. this happened on South Boundry road very near to Ryan Ranch.
an absolutely beautiful bob cat, and some one runs it over right infront of my eyes. i have it all on video, and maybe there is a license plate number, but what does that do? its totally gross, and i feel a total lack of respect for wildlife.
there i was, riding my bicycle, and i see these bob cats. yes...there were 2. one was up the road more and it ducked intot he bushes before i could get good video. but the 2nd i got plenty video of... i was at a stop, video-ing this beautiful bob cat, and someone in a car drives by, and runs it over. disgusting!
what can be done about this kind of stuff.
in many ways i feel that the road should be closed off.

I am very sorry to hear about this loss. The old military roads were not designed for high-speed travel and animals emerging from the brush so close to the road can be taken by surprise. Those same cars are a risk to the cycling and walking public as well for the very same reason.
We are not great stewards of our planet. The kin of that bob cat as well as the mountain lion recently seen near Gigling will be loosing more and more of their habitat in Fort Ord as our development continues to sprawl out over this beautiful land. The flora and fauna of the planet don't vote but you do. The answer to what can be done is: become politically active and involved in land use policy.

and where to send the video? who would i bring this up to?
I mean...it seems really crazy... we have "snowy plover habitat" what about dont run over the bob cat.
i mean, it was as plain as day... there i was on the side of the road, standing there with my bicycle at 6pm, not dark yet with my camera in had, video-ing this beautiful animal, when it unfortunately bolted in front of a car.
in pebble beach, most people would have slowed down thinking it was a deer deer are everywhere... but Bob Cats?
it seems like something should be done it seems like Bob Cats should have some consideration... it must be a chance occasion, but I think it happens more often than we think.
i wonder who I'd report this to. video and all
peace...d
