Unfortunately the euphoria wore off fast. It looks on paper to be
another solid quarter and the company continues to strengthen, but I
doubt that will translate into much in the way of stock price
increase.

I really have no idea what it would take to move this stock
substantially higher.

And then you have Amazon, trading at a 143x p/e, not paying a
dividend, making only $103m or so in profit, and the stick is up 17%
because they "beat" estimates. I will never understand the market's
fascination with tech.

tmalone, I echo your angst.  I used to blame the Chineese for somehow 'taking' our manufacturing away from us.  Now I'm starting to think it's our own damn fault.  When selling cofffee makers, renting movies, and catering to the otherwise nonproductive is valued more than making something -- well this is what you get.  I get angry and buy more Ford. Than's why I remain not so rich bob.

Wijram,
Are you still listening?  Any reason for this .30 drop?

Thanks!  I wonder if Ford management takes as hard as we do.  I mean you walk out of a good presentation and conference call and the first thing you see is the ticker price.  It's a good thing they don't let dogs on the executive floor.

Nothing left to do but go "F" myself. Justifiably bitter at the
moment. I'm so glad we're investment grade. What a great job we're
doing. No good deed goes unpunished..........I can't wait 'til the
next headfake. I'm totally disgusted over the last 15 months. No good
reason for the suppression of this stock. I'm going to go grab a stick
and beat the shit out of something. Anybody want to join?

Anyone concerned with Tuesday's sales numbers? As always not worried
about Ford but I am certainly concerned about Ford stock. I am not
sure what it will take to get it moving up but do fear that market
share lose will bring it down.

Wow.  This blows.

Actually, I'm a little disspointed with the 39c result.  Was hoping for closer to 50-60c range.  Their american production seemed to put them on that path.  I guess I didn't factor in how much of a hit they took in Europe and other area's.

I'm off to short more CRM and CMG.  Investors are total idiots.  We are such a society easy-money/quick-fix idiots.

Well, I'm not retiring for another 40 years anywho.  Maybe I'll buy more F, I figure that time frame might be enough to seperate the shit from the silver.  In the ST, even DAN and TEN have broken their downward moves.  This market is hard up against resistance right about now (2:48pm, http://screencast.com/t/Yaxdpb2Go) and I'm looking for a short pullback to around the 1390 to be completed by tuesday at the latest.  The dip is officially over, and the Fed has made it blatantly clear that their one and only governing interest is the support of prices, while earnings battle the slowdown in the rest of the economy.  I don't know if we'll make new highs or not, but at this point I'd give a 50/50 at worst.  AAPL simply blew people away.  But, I don't think the rest of the earnings will have it so easy, so I'll be watching closely for more weakness.   At worst though, I think we're likely to be stuck in range from 1420 to 1370 http://screencast.com/t/G1jfkTofR.  The USD has broken its LT support (again) and is clearly in a dangerous position.  I think it's highly likely we'll revisit the lows again.  This is generally equity bullish, but I suspect the law of diminishing returns will mean we get less lift for further drops in USD.

On F side, we are firmly within a continuing downtrend, now with no salvation in the future.  http://screencast.com/t/bVUCjwJ8 Euro is about as likely to recover this coming year as ur average 90 yr olds libido, and although US/Canada seem to be pulling their weight in vehicle purchases, I guess the investing public is just so much more enamoured with the easy money that anything short of specatuclar will just fail to raise much interest.  Safety is soooooo last generation...
