Good morning TT,

Nailed it as far as I'm concerned, Kiwi. More important things so, in
my case, add an earthquake to that sumo-cycler’s challenge. …I can
only hope for grease. Good time for me to stand back.

Looks like Spain had a rough auction. Headlines say yields doubled.
Yesterday’s news is their economy shrank 0.4%. This would be the
largest of the PIIGS slipping. Probably more in the way of headline
risk but hey, it’s almost May.

Wijram,
Are you up for the game today?  I'll need another cheerleader to keep this mini-rally going.  I'm under water and holding my breath - need 12 to get more air.

Hey notsorichbob~

I am certainly with you but, more importantly, it appears that Fitch
does as well.

Now, the question becomes how high this, the earnings report and the
Apr sales report will push F common.

Housing shows surprising gain:

revised minus 3.9 in February.

As usual, the numbers vary sharply by city. On the plus side, Phoenix
continued a string of pluses, rising 2.1 percent in the latest month.
Miami and Minneapolis also are having a nice run upward. On the
downside, Atlanta continued its slide, dipping 2.0 percent in
February. Also with negative consecutive strings are Chicago, New
York, and Cleveland.

Retail reports mixed, but OK. While Redbook showed some weakness, the
ISC surprised to the upside.

Store Sales - Y/Y 3.2% 3.6%

Highlights
Sales accelerated in the April 21 week, up 0.8 percent according to
the same-store sales index from ICSC-Goldman which cites the week's
warm weather, receding gas prices, as well as what it says is
improving confidence among high-income households. The report's year-
on-year rate moved four tenths higher to plus 3.6 percent.----

Seems like the good news just came to an end.

Consumer confidence and home prices both even weaker than expected.

Hence, I doubt that my targets will be reached today.

Therefore, off to do something else productive.
