My personal thank yous to Mary Helen & Ralph Crowe, Kathy Day, Eve & Gordon Graham, Gay Johnson, Bruce McClelland, Perry Ning, Deb Stone and Judy Zheng who all came to the YWCA during the day on Saturday to set up the gym with me.  TOM GORDON did a great job of shopping for all of the major foods and drinks (shrimp, ham, teas, coffee, and more!)  Thanks to Patty Covington, who snuck in during the to help Tom set up the drinks for the dance.
YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!
I also thank Everyone that helped Reggie haul in his equipment, all of you that brought food to the dance, all of you that DANCED, all of you that stayed around after the dance to pack everything up.  I know I didn't get home until 1:30am...  Might have been later for some of the rest of you.  Without our wonderful dance community, we would not have had the amazing NYE dance that we had.  That said, we still need some amazing people to HOST dances this year.  First one needed is February 11th.  MORE LATER IN THE YEAR.

Our January and February dance schedule is a little DIFFERENT than usual, so please pay attention!

Since Georgy-Alabam falls on the same weekend as our "usual Saturday Night Dance" - we will NOT BE DANCING IN BIRMINGHAM THAT WEEK.  You can still however, sign up for the amazing Georgy-Alabam Square Dance Weekend that will be happening at Cheaha State Park (Jan 13-15).  All info available at our website, but you'd better hurry, because we only have a few spots left, and you will have to arrange your housing!

SO, here is our YWCA dance schedule for the months of January and February

Sunday, January 22
4:00pm Sunday dance with the Vulcan Eejits and caller Rob Harper

Sunday, February 5
4:00pm Special Sunday Dance with Perpetual e-Motion and Gary Nelson, Caller  THIS AMAZING BAND WILL ALSO BE GIVING A CONCERT PERFORMANCE ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 1st at MOONLIGHT ON THE MOUNTAIN IN HOOVER, AL.  http://www.moonlightonthemtn.com/MOTM/Directions.html
PERPETUAL E-MOTION CONCERT:  Wednesday, February 1, 7:30pm.  Doors open at 6:45pm.  Bring your own picnic (snacks, beer, wine, whatever) bring your own small table and chairs if you want, but there are tables and chairs there on a first-come-first-serve basis.    www.perpetuale-motion.com

Saturday, February 11
8:00pm Dance to the music of Waxwing with caller Robbin Marcus  STILL NEED A HOST FOR THIS DANCE!

More info on all later - but probably not until after Georgy-Alabam.  Go to our website www.FOOTMADbirmingham to find out more!

Thanks guys!  See you on the dance floor,
Linda James
