If you were at our fabulous dance (Henri's Notions with caller Rob Harper) on Sunday, you know that we need more of you wonderful people to HOST DANCES. Without Dance Hosts - we don't dance. Sure, we need a band, sure we need a caller, sure we need Reggie Bolton giving us great sound, sure we need able bodied folks to help Reggie set up and tear down his equipment, but all of those folks couldn't do what they do, if someone isn't the acting PERSON IN CHARGE, setting up the chairs, calling the Reggie volunteers, filling the water jugs, and sitting at the desk taking in admission money. As host, you get free admission to the dance, plus lots of folks helping you (because that is what contra dancers do!)
So here are the dates we need folks. I have included the bands that are scheduled to perform (so far).

If you see a date that you can HOST, and are the first one to respond, it is yours! Early in the week that you HOST, I send you an easy to understand instruction sheet. We know it takes a village to create a dance. Besides all I have listed above, we also have our President, Janet Wallace, and our Goddess, Joyce Cauthen booking the bands and callers. Joyce also houses or arranges housing for many of the bands and callers. AND YOU THOUGHT ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SHOW UP???? Please HOST A DANCE for FOOTMAD.

THEN, I hope you have your calendar marked for WEDNESDAY, FEB 1 when FOOTMAD is sponsoring a concert at MOONLIGHT ON THE MOUNTAIN of the Amazing Band from Maine, PERPETUAL e-MOTION. We will start the evening with a POT-LUCK SUPPER at MOONLIGHT (6:30pm). The concert begins at 7:30pm. Tickets are $15. More infor at this website: www.moonlightonthemtn.com
PERPETUAL e-MOTION will be back on SUNDAY, FEB 5 to play for our next CONTRA DANCE at the YWCA. ($8 or non-members, $6 for members)
