Got a lot to say about growing food and making a living at it? The University of Iowa Press would like to hear from you. We are developing a new line of books about the production and distribution of food. So much depends on how we humans feed ourselves—our own health, the quality of our social relationships, even the world’s climate. The press is looking for books that tell some part of the complex tale of modern agriculture, illuminating the possibilities, acknowledging the difficulties, and engaging readers from all walks of life. If you’ve got a good (nonfiction) story to tell, we are all ears.
Proposals should include a description of the planned book (1–2 pages), a table of contents with a brief description of each chapter, an estimate of the manuscript’s length, number of illustrations planned, expected date of completion, and the author’s resume with full contact information.
