Growing Power

Dear FoodLoveChicago,

I imagine that most of you have heard of Growing Power.  The head of their Chicago arm, Erika Allen, is speaking at Thousand Waves Martial Arts & Self-Defense Center on 

Wednesday, March 7^th, from 7 – 8:30 p.m.  The event is free. 

As the scourge of food deserts and the “urban farming” movement have gained attention over the past several years, Growing Power has emerged as a national leader in helping to provide equal access to healthy, high-quality, safe and affordable food for people in all communities. Erika Allen, National Outreach Manager, will share Growing Power’s work to cultivate not only urban crops but a peaceful form of empowerment.
