Hello Don and others,

How hard do you think it would it be to create a "fp-lite" or
"fontypython-viewer" from the current code?

The reason I ask is kfontview and gnome-font-viewer aren't really
cutting it any more - it would be nice to have a light viewer (click a
font link on a website and get a quick preview) that is customizable,

related to the stage adaptation. So this is an alteration of a copy
of a parody...

Sorry for being dense - I'm not sure what group you replied-to. At the moment
there is no team for Fonty, it's just me. There is a wiki on
[link], the main code-base is on Savannah,
there is an old google group and there's also a Launchpad project. The only
one I really use is Savannah and I try to keep the trac wiki up to date.

I found a bug that caused a crash on a font of zero width, so that's fixed now
and I also made the Check fonts dialogue work a little better.
0.3.6 is on Savannah.

Fonty 0.3.5 - with icon and desktop file

Kartik,
I hacked-in the .desktop file and an icon. They get installed during
setup.py. I could not find a single source of info about how to do it right
and so I have hardwired two directories:
/usr/share/pixmaps/fontypython .png
/usr/share/applications/fontyp ython.desktop
It works on my end - appears in the K menu under Graphics - but I don't know

Sure. The upcoming Fontypython version by default goes to 'unstable' in
Debian and then to upcoming Ubuntu 'hardy' (if we will make it in some
time..).
Sure. I will check the manpage and send it to list.
Its not that much important but, users will love it!

Yeah, the surrounding files are quite hard to keep up-to-date. I forgot the
latest changelog in the 0.3.4 version :(
I'm not sure what you feel, but I'd like a *little* more testing done before
0.3.4 is released to the Debian/Ubuntu repos. Otherwise, is it still possible
