Hi
I need advice re the wedding bucket service that I know some people
offer. How do you estimate how many flowers people need?
If a customer wants to make a brides bouquet, 2 bridesmaids, and 2
table decorations (average size) does anyone have any kind of formula
or method of estimating the number of standard flower buckets ( 10
inch diameter) required.
many thanks if anyone can help

Hi Amanda
It's going to depend so much on the variety of flowers involved. Maybe you
could try doing mock-up bouquets and table centres to see how many flowers
you use? I sell by the bucket for DIY weddings but am usually guided by how
much they want to spend and charge £25 - £30 for a generous mixed bucket.

Speaking from a florist's point of view, I would say 2 - 3 generously full buckets would be needed. But as Gill suggested, it is probably best to make some mock-up's of the various designs, if you photograph them when you have made them, then you can show potential brides what you can make with a bucket or two of flowers!
kind regards,
