Camassia are absolutely gorgeous this year aren't they? They're just about
my only thing that appears to have loved the constant deluge. I'm sorry
I've no info on price as I just gave all mine away! (This post is actually
just a huge ego-trip - sorry) The North East are staging the NAFAS display
at Chelsea this year; they wanted to incorporate some flowers from the
region and found me via the Flowers From The Farm website. They're putting
together a design based on Monet's garden at Giverney and my Camassia are
going to be in there by the waterside. Fantastic to see International
demonstrators wanting to use British Flowers!!

Hey Gill,
And a deserved ego trip! You have put so much work in the Flowers from the Farm network, it's fantastic that people are starting to take notice!

Congratulations Gill that is a fantastic achievement. I just hope you get the chance to go and see them yourself. My peony plants are really struggling with the cold and wet we've had here in Norfolk. Best wishes Sarah

Great news!  . I'm having a challenge on my hands with local florists here and discussions about English grown flowers and prices....must press on with conviction!

I'm enjoying my camassia's, their first year- and they should only get better....?!

Hi Gill

I was pleased to see your note re. the NAFAS demonstrators. I'm training to
be an area demonstrator and hope to use as many British grown flowers as
possible. Frustratingly I'm still trying to acquire land to grow my own,
but I will be contacting growers in my area next year (assuming I pass), to
see if they have any material I can purchase and use in my designs.

During our training session last week we were asked why we wanted to be
demonstrators. Promoting British grown flowers is certainly top of my list!

Vikki, it will be lovely to have a NAFAS demonstrator who promotes British
flowers. I am often frustrated by the visiting demonstrators at our local
flower club who create gorgeous displays but appear never to consider using
locally grown material. The people in the audience leave with the
impression that garden flowers 'aren't good enough' for an important
occasion.
The best of luck with the rest of your training and with finding some land.
