If you simply create two series, the default behavior is to show both bars at the same location without stacking them.  If you want them side-by-side, rather than overlapping, you can give them half their usual width and give one series left alignment while the other has right.

You can use the stacking example as a base; then just disable stacking.

That works for two series.  What about for 3+ series?  Still has the problem of overlapping.
