Hello everyone,

The NYCDOE FAMIS purchasing system order numbers are in.  New York City public schools can pay for to register their FLL team through the FAMIS system as of May 27th.

Attached to this message is the website of the shopping cart with the two FLL registration items listed.

Remember, the first step to registering is to go online and get a team number.  You do not need to pay to get a team number.  YOU NEED TO FIRST HAVE A TEAM NUMBER IN ORDER TO PAY.

Please click on https://gofll.usfirst.org/ to go to the registration page.

Please keep in mind that your schools are going to be very hesistant to purchase anything in June, so get this information to your principal and your purchasing secretary this week!

Please reply with your questions.

Good luck,

Mike.

It is time to register for 2009!

Registration for the 2009 FLL season is open.
Please click on https://gofll.usfirst.org/ to go to the registration
page.
You do not need to pay now, but you should register now!
The FAMIS codes are not set yet for NYCDOE teams, but you should still
register now.  NYC schools need to register first before they can pay
using the FAMIS system.

Hi Mike.

RoboTech wrote and published a book titled A NYC School Goes Green. The book uses a fictional character named Robin to document everything they did to go green in their community.  I want to send a copy of the book to FLL to demonstrate the impact this program is having on the school, kids, and the Rego Park community.  Who should I send it to and what is their address?

The system is different this year. You don't get a team number until you go through checkout.
I checked and you are not listed so you have to go back and finish. You do not have to pay if you put PO or check.

Hi everyone,

Thanks Norm.  It is great to see so many of you all registering now.  This is the time to do it.  It is the time when everyone is best able to help.

hey mike i have funding through my school; if i don't use the FAMIS
codes that means i am not required to do those 60 hours...correct? I
understand the underwater might cause a problem but i would like to be
a part of that again as well without using the STEM grant money so as
not to be forced to do any trainings. Is this okay? please advise

Hi Peter,

The FAMIS codes have nothing to do with the grant.  Feel free to pay any way you like.

The grant had only to do with the Underwater robotics.  If you pay through FAMIS, the money will come out of your school's funds.

Mike.

Hey Mike,

Hope you had a great summer. I was curious to see if you are still the STEM liason for robotics. I hope you are!
