Common Problems & SolutionsHere are a few of the problems and issues that people often run into with the plugin. If you've read through everything and are still having issues, post to the forum and we'll see if we can help you out. M@tt has created a visual guide to setting up flickrRSS which may help some people. I just setup the plugin and nothing is showing upSometimes the plugin takes a little while to kick in. Wait for an hour or two, refresh your browser (and maybe wipe cache) and see if it works. If it still doesn't, there may be a configuration issue or some large issue with the plugin. There is a code replacement option further down this page that seems to work for some people (some servers have a weird bug with RSS retrieval and display). There is no User ID fieldChange the display to user, rather than public, community, etc... a field to your id number in will appear automatically via javascript. How can I get random images from my photostream? Not, the plugin uses RSS feeds, which are limited to the last 20 photos that have been uploaded. There are probably some API based plugins that will let you use random images. Here is some code that will provide pseudo-random images within the 20 items. How can I refresh my photos? At this time you can't. WordPress should refresh the feed within the hour, so you won't have to wait too long. When I enable the cache, why do a bunch of random letters show up?That means that the cache directory is probably specified wrong. Contact your host and see if they can help you get the right path. If that still doesn't work, just use the plugin without the cache. How do I get borders or spaces between my images? Some themes come with built-in support for flickrRSS, but it's more likely that you'll have to edit the theme's CSS file and get it working yourself. You may find tutorials for creating a thumbnail gallery if you search the internet. No matter what I try, the plugin doesn't workThe plugin uses the built-in WordPress system for retrieving RSS feeds. For some users, there is some sort of server side issue that ends up messing up the html inside the feed, and screws up the plugin as a result (for the tech savvy, it's an issue with php and libxml) On the original forum, the user kennywickstrom proposed this solution that seems to have work for some people. Find the code: preg_match('<img src="([^"]*)" [^/]*/>', $item['description'],$imgUrlMatches) and replace it with:
If that fails to fix the problem, drop a post on the forum and we'll try to help. Can I get an older version of the plugin?Yes, try here.
