An Overview of What We’re Looking For:
The Sports Illustrated Digital Products Group is looking for an interactive
developer to work within a small creative group. The ideal candidate has an
eye for detail, is self-motivated and resourceful. In this role you’ll be
working with the Senior Developer to create projects from concept to
completion. In addition to cutting code, responsibilities include
concepting, technical documentation and wireframing. Projects can range
from custom site builds to facebook application development. The
Interactive developer should also have a strong design and animation sense
and be able to make design and IA suggestions and improvements during build.
Requirements:
- Mastery of the following: HTML and CSS (up to HTML5/CSS3 standard),
javascript (handcoding and jQuery), Adobe, Photoshop and other graphic
editing tools.
- Demonstrated ability to program complex and dynamic HTML web sites.
- Understanding of website information architecture and navigation
- Capable of optimizing and translating PSDs into pixel-perfect code
- Expertise in avoiding and troubleshooting cross browser compability issues
- Portfolio with relevant code samples - be prepared to debrief
- Comfortable providing time estimates and accepting feedback loops
- Proven collaboration skills but also a resourceful self-starter that can
work independently with simple instruction
- Understands how the web works
