hello FlashCoders. In my searches, I'm only finding software that converts swf to screensaver. I'm wondering...
1. Is it possible to create screensaver files (for mac and pc) from flash animation without using "make-a-screensaver-from-swf" software? If so, what file format, and where do I put the files?
2. If not, is there any particular swf-to-screensaver software anyone recommends?
3. Possible for a screensaver to be interactive, or strictly animation?
We recently tried a few of the swf-to-screensaver programs and we ended up
using Screentime For Flash 4.0. It worked great for both PC and Mac. It's
slightly on the pricey side. You need a PC or VMWare or Parallels to create
the .exe.
Woudn't an interactive screensaver defeat the whole purpose of the
screensaver?
I mean, the point is that you see the screensaver until you move the mouse,
then you're back to whatever app you were using.

And After Dark's Lunatic Fringe was a game within a screensaver. :)
I suppose if you had audio (<http://mewho.com/system47/> a Flash-to-screensaver project), you might want some keypress/input option to turn it off immediately without having to go find the preference pane, especially if you have it password-protected on wake.
There is mouse click vs movement & 104 keyboard keys to consider individually against each other.
Many apps (especially video content) require you to press esc to break the fullscreen spell, that being highly specific vs the mouse moves OR someone clicks OR presses any key more general wake-up model of most screensavers.
