Just 25 weeks until we reach Capitol Hill...and we need your help as
we work toward that common liberal and progressive horizon.

The petition deadline has passed on May 7th and I sincerely appreciate
your solidarity in that effort. By initial estimates, we have submitted
more than the required amount of petitions, which saved us a great
deal of capital that will be better utilized promoting our liberal and
progressive Democratic campaign. We'll know more in the weeks ahead,
when the state of Florida reports its full results.

So let's talk about HR4970, the Violence Against Women Act

Reauthorization of 2012. Sandy Adams (R-FL) and Eric Cantor (R-VA)
introduced a huge neocon Tea Party monkey wrench, into what should
have been a nice, neat reauthorization of a very good law. Perhaps, we
might have even improved upon it. The Feminist Majority Foundation noted:

"
Before the Cantor/Adams bill, VAWA Reauthorization legislation -
ever since it first passed in 1994 - has always expanded coverage and
services for the purpose of reducing violence."

Instead, Sandy Adams and friends, have decided that America needs less
protection of the LGBT community, and less protection of Native American
women, and less protection of immigrant women. There's the party of Republican
'family values' for you, in black and white. That's what Sandy Adams' version of the bill
accomplishes: less - when America needs more protection
of vulnerable groups.

We need all of our friends and supporters who receive this note, to
help us with
promoting our liberal and progressive campaign, so that people like Sandy Adams,
don't get away in 2012. We must replace them with New Deal Democrats, that will
remain true to the New Deal legacy of better times for more people. That's why I'm
running against her for the U.S. House seat in FL-7.

Please contribute to our campaign - because this is a federal seat, and a truly
liberal and progressive Democrat elected anywhere - helps us design liberal
and progressive policy for all fifty states.
