What you're looking at is "vestigial" leftovers. They're
here, they're big and it takes a while to wind them down.
But wind down they will as the numbers of people, to whom
mass selling can be done, dwindle. People living in
homeless camps do not enjoy a coke and a smile! Boeing has
always been on the gov't dole, never having earned anything
other than a paper profit, by projecting current sales into
some distant future that never arrives.
Just as the 2001 economy was canabalizing the resources of
the masses, accumulated over decades, so too is our
present economy canablizing what remains. Eventually it
runs out of steam, as failures increase costs and foment
mistrust. An economy can't survive on propaganda, it needs
real economic activity to run. Not just figures borne of
paper shuffling projections.

Boeing reported quarterly net profit of $1.1 billion, or $1.44 per
share, compared with $694 million, or 89 cents per share, a year earlier.
Earnings from continuing operations were $1.43 per share, which easily
beat Wall Street's average forecast of $1.24, according to Reuters
Estimates.
Revenue rose 12 percent to $16.5 billion, above analysts' average
forecast of $16.05 billion.
