...Yeah, this newsgroup has been relatively dead for a while now. I keep hoping for some action here because the other gardening group I check is useless. They are worried about over-wintering their geraniums while I am wondering if I should pick my hand of bananas now (green as they are) and ripen them... more »

Hi, I am happy to find your group on sbcglobal news (...among the porn newsgroups unfortunately (sigh)) I have so plants and shrubs located around the perimeter of our home as most do. How to deal with this ? My aunt ( a very old person) has a house in California... She has had the home over 18 years now. There are 2 trees whose roots are lifting the concrete pretty high. it didn't turn out as good as i wanted.. but its damn good... big fat kernels.. but only half ears. I learned a trick also.. when the silk shows on the end of an ear.. take a rubber band and band the top of the ear closed.. it keeps the bugs out.. and keeps the moisture in... and should produce better ears.... more »

Something is chewing my plants?

Seems like just the leaf is being eaten off of my pepper plants.. This is strange to me.. since I have tomato plants with 8 foot vines full of leaf free to eat.

I wouldn't want to sit outside in full sun with now wind.. and being like.. 98 degrees outside.. with a feels like temp of one million. My tomato plants stopped producing!?
