  1. A PLAM TREE HAS JUST STARTED GROWING RIGHT BY MY HOUSE. BESIDES CUTTING IT AWAY, HOW CAN I PERMANENTLY GET RID OF IT? 2. ALSO, MANY SMALL BRANCHES OF A "HO;;Y' TREE HAVE ALSO STARTED. I WOULD LIKE TO GET RID OF THEM TOO WITHOUT HURTING THE SURROUNDING SCHRUBS, IF POSSIBLE. HELP!... more »

Relatively New to FL (Orlando)
...Yeah, this newsgroup has been relatively dead for a while now. I keep hoping for some action here because the other gardening group I check is useless. They are worried about over-wintering their geraniums while I am wondering if I should pick my hand of bananas now (green as they are) and ripen them... more »

dear fl.gardening readers
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 It's getting a bit tiresome seeing one misguided American after another with their cutsie little yellow or red-white-blue ribbons on their outsized SUVs. Yeah, I guess it's the thing to do; maybe part of that whole soccer-mom culture. Unfortunately, the only thing they demonstrate is that the person... more »

This year right off of the bat they had these little black mites all over them eating them and thus killing them. We also have a small mature... more »

How to deal with this ?
How to deal with this ? My aunt ( a very old person) has a house in California... She has had the home over 18 years now. There are 2 trees whose roots are lifting the concrete pretty high. How does one deal with this problem ? She has been told that she needs to get rid of the trees and that there... more »

Picked the corn!
it didn't turn out as good as i wanted.. but its damn good... big fat kernels.. but only half ears. I learned a trick also.. when the silk shows on the end of an ear.. take a rubber band and band the top of the ear closed.. it keeps the bugs out.. and keeps the moisture in... and should produce better ears.... more »

Something is chewing my plants?
Seems like just the leaf is being eaten off of my pepper plants.. This is strange to me.. since I have tomato plants with 8 foot vines full of leaf free to eat.

If I were a vegatable.
I wouldn't want to sit outside in full sun with now wind.. and being like.. 98 degrees outside.. with a feels like temp of one million. My tomato plants stopped producing!?
