I'm looking for an LDAP server program for WinTel that ideally would use an
Access DB. Know any good sources?

I am a systems manager and am looking to develop an ldap system very soon. I just wanted to see what people are talking about.
And once I start designing and building this new system I will likely come here to ask questions look for insight into my design.
I hope more people start using this newsgroup.

I try to make my opinion on it by reading on the net, but can not find
anything giving me good idea of what is LDAP, what is its use and how to
use it.
Does anybody know where to find printable documentation, RFCs excepted,
which discribes "all you've ever wanted to know about LDAP" ?
Thank in advance and long live to this news group !

This is begining to suggest that we need a mainstream ldap
group, or at least one not hiding in one of the japanese hierarchies...
Florent, just so happens that you and I are on the same hunt. I've
spent the past 12 hours downloading, making, installing, configuring and
learning the ins-and-outs of slapd from http://www.openldap.org which is
an unix ldap server. I'm running Red-Hat Linux 5.1. It's been the
typical web adventure - hunting and pecking for the good stuff. I've
found most of the documentation available to be either very terse or
very techy. There have been a few gems though. I've put a quick list
of some of the best resources up at http://www.wanderlist.com/ldap
(wanderlist is my own little stake in the web).
Happy hunting.
Please post back here if you find other valuable resources out there.

I finaly could find something readable on LDAP. It is not yet the LDAP for Dummies, but the online doc is a good help to start with and easyer decrypt RFCs.
You can find it among on the IBM Redbooks (http://www.redbooks.ibm.com.

Another brick on the group !
