Changing US Drivers License to Japanese

Yes, this is a recurring thread, but every time it comes up, but bottom line
seems to be that the best thing to do is to get an international license from
the AAA in the states. Avoid the test and perhaps avoid tickets, too. It can
be done by mail to any state (not just your home state). Anyone have an
address?

Watch that last part. I had to come up with my passport to show that I had
been out of the country at least once in the past year. The Osaka police (at
least the koban in Tennoji) said that they wouldn't honor a mail ordered
international license.
