This is directed more towards gaigin not living in Japan. My son loves Aquarius; not Pokari Sweat - Aquarius is high on his list of all time favorite beverages. I cannot find it in any local Asian stores, Amazon doesn't have it - all I see online is Pocari Sweat. I assume that Coca Cola blocks importing it (they own Powerade, and that would be a competitor to their own brand).

Can any one confirm? Have you seen it in any of the Asian stores where you live?

Wikipedia claims it is sold as Aquarius Spring! in the US:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquarius_%28sports_drink%29#United_States

Further searching indicates you could buy *that* online from here:

http://www.dollartree.com/Aquarius-Springs-16-9-oz-Natural-Spring-Water-6-ct-Packs/p298339/index.pro

I won't attest to how close it is as I have never seen it available. Seems a bit cold for sports drinks this time of year. I only tended to drink them during the heat of the summer when I figured they'd do the most good. Or I was sick with the some intestinal bug and spewing my guts out everywhere.

Oh, and one more, apparently:

http://en.kenko.com/shop/en-us/list/sr/5/1/0/commodity/0/0/w/Aquarius

They will apparently ship overseas but it won't be cheap and I haven't worked out how payments are handled for it just yet.

Am I the only one who drinks milk as a "sports beverage"?

Nothing like it after a good work-out...
or during...
or before...
or instead of...

I love milk after exercise; my son does, too. He started after a trip to Kinosaki, with some excellent cold milk after an excellent hot bath.

Looks slightly different; more of a water. But Dollar Tree? Might go to the local store and check it out.

Well, I drink about 3 gallons a week, and I'm still doing BJJ. Not sure if
there's a cause-and-effect, but at least it isn't hurting me.
