Thank you for visiting the "Fix I-70 Now" Forum. I-70 is critical to our state's economy. Colorado's businesses and the working Coloradans they employ cannot afford a crumbling infrastructure on one of our state's most important commercial highways.

I started this page to compile innovative ideas to unclog I-70 traffic on the mountain corridor. Please feel free to browse the site and to post your comments. I truly appreciate all the great ideas that we have received so far and I believe that, through this forum, we can pioneer an immediate and collaborative solution. Thanks for caring about our great state.

Although I've been critical of Senator Romer's proposal to charge drivers to use a highway they already own, I commend him for kicking off a lively dialogue about congestion -- and I'm 100% supportive of his effort to create a public forum to discuss fresh ideas and new solutions.  I look forward to checking the postings on this website often to learn what you think the problems are, and how best to fix them.  Thanks for taking the time to contribute to this exciting conversation about the future of I-70!

Rob Witwer, Colorado State Representative

As chair of the House Transportation and Energy Committee, I too am excited about this new forum for public discussion on fixing I-70 congestion. I represent House District 47, which is in Pueblo and Fremont Counties. When we think about fixing I-70, we must consider the infrastructure needs of other parts of the state as well. The cost of fixing all of Colorado’s highways may be greater than $60 billion over the next 25 years. Let’s make sure that all of Colorado’s roadways are safe and well-maintained. I look forward to brainstorming with you all about fixing I-70 now.
