OK, so I'm going to ask at really un-PC kind of question.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH JOLLY PUMPKIN BEERS?

http://www.jollypumpkin.com/brewery.htm

I really really want to like them, but every single bottle of Jolly
Pumpkin I have ever picked up has been just- well - HORRIBLE. Tastes
like it is infected!

I suspect it is probably a critter that is living in their barrels
they use for aging (which they pride themselves on)... but everything
I have ever tasted is incredibly sour!! I've tried their Roja,
Maracaibo Especial, Madrugada Oscura, and Oro de Calabaza - and every
single one has a sour note that gets near intolerable when chilled to
around 40-45 degrees, and is still present at around room temp, albeit
less so.

I suspect this trait is intentional, so I must believe that it is
merely my lack of understanding or significant ignorance of whatever
style they are shooting for, but WTF is going on with their beers???

ANYONE???

Never tried them.   The only pumpkin beer I ever really liked was your
pumpkin stout.
