TOP Program

Dear Women of First Parish,

 . . .  On Sunday evening, walking back from the RiverSing--which was *fun!* by the way, and lovely, singing in the twilight, river songs by the river--we were talking about the current TOP program.  I thought you all might like to know, or be reminded of, the program--it's the Theological Opportunities Program--meeting in Harvard Square.  The programs are on Thursday mornings; this fall's series began on September 15th, and although the topics are related, each gathering is independent, so it 's possible to attend one or two or all.  

The current series has the cover title of "Lifting the Mask:  the Courage to Live my Truth."   Quoting from the current brochure, "The TOP lecture program . . . focuses on issues of concern to women, from the personal to the global.  It affirms and validates women's viewpoints ad values.  The usual format begins with a member of the TOP advisory group speaking briefly about how the topic of the day relates to her own life experience, followed by the guest speaker's presentation on the topic, based on her or his expertise, leading to a lively question & discussion period."

I have attended and participated in TOP, off and on, since 1981, and some of the presentations were truly life-changing for me!  

TOP has a (relatively new) website, www.theologicalopportunities.org, where you can find more information and/or I'm always happy to talk about it!
