This seems to have started around the 1.6.2 release though I'm not
sure about that.  Whenever I log into the Firestats page, I am greeted
with this:

Failed to check version at http://files.firestats.cc/firestats.latest?version=1.6.2-stable,
reason : could not resolve the host domain "files.firestats.cc"

The thing is, I can resolve the domain, from the server even (through
SSH).  I don't know if it's the correct IP or not (209.17.190.74) but
it does actually resolve to something.

Is there an issue here I'm unaware of or simply something I'm doing
wrong?  Thanks for you help!

give it some time, the problem may just disappear after a while.
(FireStats caches the response for two weeks, if I am not mistaken).

if it does not disappear, there may be a server configuration problem
(possibly php restrictions).

if you can't figure it out, you can just turn off the new version check
from the settings tab.
