| I think what is happening is that our test-verification code
| is running before the Firebug test code runs

Why can't you have that test to wait?

Sorry, I haven't even looked at the test runner or test code. I think
async testing is an important feature for testing framework. If it
isn't possible, it should be.

First impression: Firefox seems faster. UI is quite nice looking.

The test code is almost all event driven. So we are waiting, just not
on the right things.

Is this version preferred over v1.3 on Firefox 3.0?

Why is the 1.4.0b1 version on AMO only for Firefox 3.5?

Version firebug-1.4.0a31.xpi can be installed for Firefox 3.0

Hopefully users with experience will reply, so this is form the
Firebug developers perspective:

1.4a31 has new features not available in 1.3, new bugs in those
features, bug fixes for problems known in 1.3, and bugs in addition to
those in 1.3. So "it depends".

As alpha releases go, 1.4a31 should be pretty good on FF 3.0. All the
features planned for 1.4 are in a31. If you have any problem with it
you can get it fixed just by opening a bug report. No one is working
on 1.3 to my knowledge.
